Signage Wall

I coordinated this project from beginning through completion. Some of the key features incorporated into the design include large multi-functional storage millwork, open kitchen, art sink, and children’s washroom with a change station.

We ensured optimal sight-lines throughout the open play area,

from the kitchen to entrance, office to entrance, and partial sight

into the children’s washroom for ease of one guardian keeping

track of multiple children. The space was reorganized to improve

flow through the task areas and best utilize the feature storage. Resource centre availability was maintained by using a 2-week

downtime for the main construction and minimal finishing was completed while open and operational.

Role: Project Coordination

This is another project that I coordinated retail design and signage. It began with the need to accommodate multiple functions cohesively into one unit; retail front of house and office/ warehouse in the back.

To optimize the layout, a customer journey assessment was performed with options for POS location/ store circulation. Careful consideration was given to the POS millwork to ensure appropriate routines paths and organization. A coffee station completes the design area encompassing wall coverings,

colour wall, and layout tables. The Benjamin Moore brand

was well represented in the retail space therefore the

design concept remained mostly neutral while accents of

colour show the customers what Leslie Street Paint is

all about.

The result is a successful opening with sales exceeding projections and a POS area that is running smoothly

to ensure the employees can assist their customers

in a timely and orderly manner.

For this project I was a critical part of the production team, producing a full set of millwork details and contributing to the signage package.

We began while construction was underway but got to work quickly reworking store layout for optimal circulation through departments and flexibility for various merchandising conditions. Millwork service areas perform functionally and durably to service customers, with carefully planned storage and proper protection against wear and

tear. Strategic signage informs customers of the company’s mission,

giving back to the bases on which they are located. Fortunately,

the design team was able to participate in the grand opening

which was an outstanding turnout and success.

Airport Lounge

Role: Production Team

On this project, I was part of the production team. This is one of two lounges in Calgary that receives hundreds of travelers each day and successfully accommodates the needs and desires of each traveler.

The lounges accommodate individual and group travelers with

eat, sleep, work, refresh, and entertainment areas in one

cohesive environment. This location was the introduction of

the Aspire Airport Lounges to the North American market

where the brand has been well presented and received.
